    The best way to protect against measles is to get the measles-mumps-rubella shot (also known as the MMR shot). It is recommend that your child get 2 doses of the MMR shot for best protection. Your child will need one dose at each of the following ages:
    Dose 1: At 9 months
    ( India is endemic country for measles infection so we recommend vaccine at 9 months. Recently Indian academy of Pediatrics also recommended giving measles vaccine as MMR at 9 months. )
    Dose 2: Between 4 yrs - 6 yrs
    Incase you are travelling abroad with an infant of 6 months to 11 months old, then you should have 1 dose of MMR shot before traveling abroad.
