  1. Hi. Thanks for posting your query on MediMetry.
Pneumonia is one of the life threatening complications of a respiratory system ailment. It is often spread via coughing, sneezing, or even breathing, and those who don't exhibit symptoms can also spread the illness.
Normally healthy people can recover from it within a month with proper management ie recovery depends on immunity status, cause, etc. but it can potentially be life threatening in others as described below.

It has several causes like infections by bacteria, viruses, bacteria like organisms, fungus, chemicals, etc.
Pneumonia can develop within hours or take days.

People who are at high risk include older adults, young children and people with chronic disease, including COPD and asthma, immunosuppressive states like AIDS, diabetes, cancer therapy, etc., smokers, people with neurological diseases, surgery, trauma, etc.
Heart disease, stroke, liver and kidney diseases or any conditions causing decreased swallowing( palsy, paralysis, etc) may also result in pneumonia.
So any of these alone or in combination could be the cause if your pneumonia.

Hope this answers your query regarding causes of pneumonia.
Please feel free to ask any further query especially related to treatment or what you could do to prevent pneumonia.
    Live healthy.
  2. Also fever is our body's normal reaction to infection, inflammation or any disease process or pathogens.
So disease process of pneumonia could be still ongoing or maybe a new infection could be resultant as your body s immune system is still recovering from fighting the pneumonia.

So kindly reply the duration of your pneumonia and treatment taken, type of fever, whether continous or had stopped etc. for better diagnosis and treatment options.

    Live healthy.
