  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
Your weight gain in pregnancy depends upon your pre-pregnancy BMI. During the first three months of pregnancy, women should gain only 1-2kg, regardless of their pre-pregnancy BMIs. Weight gain in 2nd and 3rd trimester depends on pre-pregnancy 'body mass index', which can be calculated based on your height, pre-pregnancy weight. ( Calculate your BMI: http://medimetry.com/bmi-body-mass-index-calculator/)
This BMI-weight gain chart might be helpful in estimating your weight gain:

If Pre- Pregnancy BMI is <18.5, Weight gain in 2nd & 3rd Trimester is 13-18 kgs.
If Pre- Pregnancy BMI is 18.5-24.9, Weight gain in 2nd & 3rd Trimester is 11.5-16 kgs.( This is normal scenario, and weight gain per week is 4-5kgs)
If Pre- Pregnancy BMI is 25-29.9, Weight gain in 2nd & 3rd Trimester is 7-11.5 kgs.
If Pre- Pregnancy BMI is >30, Weight gain in 2nd & 3rd Trimester is 5-9 kgs.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to write back to us with follow-up questions.
