Unsuccessful first IUI. Phospholipid IgM positive. avoid abortion. how?

I’m 23 years old, have irregular periods since very longtime. Trying to conceive normally but was disappointed, then went for first successful IUI but aborted later, then underwent D&C. Now I’ve been diagnosed with Phospholipid IgM Positive, 17.55 U/ml range and took rest for few months. I’m now again pregnant with 2100 HCG level. My doctor recommended me Fragmin 2500 Units daily to overcome Phospholipid problem and to avoid abortion. I wanted to know what best can I do to avoid having another miscarriage and also have healthy baby. Please suggest

  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.

Combination treatment with aspirin and heparin ( as ur doctor already started) leads to a high live birth rate among women with antiphospholipid antibodies. However, successful pregnancies are prone to a high risk of complications during all trimesters. Close antenatal surveillance and planned delivery in a unit with specialist obstetric and neonatal intensive care facilities are indicated.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to write back to us with follow-up questions.
