Suffering from tinea

Suffering from tinea, tried Canditral 100 mg two times a day and onabet cream 2 times a day for 2 weeks and there is no improvement not at all. Should I carry on with this until it goes away? Is it suggested to take canditral for more than 2 weeks ?

I have used itch guard, B-tex and ring cutter in past. Could it have made the infection resistant to onabet? As I don’t know the components. Please suggest something maybe?

I want to get rid of it as fast as possible.

  1. hi Pankaj
    welcome to medimetry
    thanks for the query
tinea is due to dermatophytes infestation..you have applied wrong medicine like itch guard, ring cutter which contain clobetasol a potent steroid..they have made fungus resistant to antifungal drugs
canditral contain itraconazole..if your fungus is resistant to azole you need to change to alkylamine group of drugs
    start
tab tyza 250 mg 1 tab daily after dinner at night* 2 weeks
tab safecet 5 mg 1 tab daily after dinner at night*10 days
tebif cream locally Applied two times over affected area * 2 weeks
    review after 2 weeks
please let me know if you have any queries
    thanks
