    Thanks for the query.

    Hiatal hernia can produce symptoms for a week or two and then subsides on its own. It can cause heartburn and ulcer could be a chronic complication.The heart burn that it causes is so severe to mimic a heart pain and the pain itself induces a lot of anxiety and worry. This anxiety can in turn increases heart rate adding to the problems.

    As the severity of hiatus hernia increases, a major portion of the stomach finds its way into the chest causing compression of the heart.

    The best thing would be to get yourself evaluated by endoscopy and barium studies. If the disease is advanced then you need surgery to put the stomach back in its place.

    Conservative treatment is effective only if the hernia is small.

    i am taking rebeprazole for a long time ,more thn 4 months.
    should i continue it or stop taking ppi?

    i have endoscopy report also..
    which states that i am having a large hiatus hernia with reflux.

    but after 2 or 3 day, i have to start p.p.i again.
