I am 28 years old trying to conceive and diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. Doctor recommended me Deflazacort 6 mg which i am taking regularly. My friends told me that its a corticosteroid. So, Is it true that i am unable to conceive because of this medication?

  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.

Deflazacort is a steroid . It mainly acts as an anti inflammatory and as an immuno suppressant drug. This drug is given for rheumatoid arthritis but it does not hinder in conceiving. But once u conceive u have to consult ur doctor for dose modification as this medicine can affect baby growth.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to write back to us with follow-up questions.
