C-section delivery few months back. I am having back pain.

I had a c-section delivery in July this year. I have developed bad back pain and shoulders pain. Is it due to the delivery procedure or something else is wrong? What can I do to ease the pain? I am giving breastfeed to my baby.

  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
As you are breastfeeding your baby, pain can happen due to bad posture, cervical spondylosis, gastritis or muscle pull. Other cause can be gall stones or infection.
If pain is more after meals, it is usually gastritis and try antacids with your doctor's advice. If it aggravates in certain posture, you need analgesics to relieve muscle spasm and then take rest followed by exercises. You can try hot fomentation also as it relieves spasm.

You can breastfeed your baby but your posture should be correct sitting straight with pillows at back. Hold baby in your arm with its head in the cubital fossa, and slightly raised so that you don't have to bend.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to write back to us with follow-up questions.
