Planning pregnancy post (LSCS) Lower Segment Cesarean Section.

Hello Doctor, my preterm LSCS was done on June 4th. I lost my baby due to high blood pressure. Now we are planning pregnancy again. Please suggest if any tests should be done to check whether my body is prepared for pregnancy or not. Suggest tests to confirm if body is ready.

  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.

As you had a loss due to high blood pressure, it is usually also associated with IUGR or oligohydramnios because of placental insufficiency. Various factors can be responsible for this:
    I. Your blood pressure should be under 140 /90 mmhg. When you plan.
    2. Get complete check up with blood tests to rule out associated conditions common being anaemia, diabetes and thyroid disorders in preconception period only and start treatment.
    3. It's better to go for APLA test which can be responsible for such events.
    4. If everything fine, discuss with your doctor to start low dose ecosprin emperically or if you are APLA positive and take tab folic acid 5mg one daily at least 1 month preconception.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to write back to us with follow-up questions.
