Noninvasive fetal test.

Hello doctor,

I did my triple test at around 21 weeks after anomaly scan, it showed 1:224 which is below cut off of 1:250.

I was very stressed out then I was advised amniocentesis and CVS but the time has lapsed to do these tests.

I did Noninvasive fetal test from my blood sample and it came negative.

Please guide me if anything is to be worried about.

Thank you.

  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
Ask you doctor if it is still permissible to undergo amniocentesis, it can give a good idea about fetal well being.
As the time has passed, get repeat anomaly scan 3d or 4d ultrasound with fetal echo done. Unless there are more than 2 abnormal markers on ultrasound or abnormal fetal echo, just wait and watch and monitor your pregnancy regularly and get baby evaluated again after its birth.
Triple test is best interpreted at 16 to 18 weeks. False positive results are high with this test. So, if your repeat scan is normal, do not worry.
