  1. Hello and welcome to Medimetry.I understand your concern. Is your baby taking bottle feeds or breast feeds? Are these feeds sufficient?A bottle fed baby should be taking 3-4 oz. Per feed and almost 6-8 times a day.A breast fed baby should be taking feed after every 3 hours for at least 10 minutes each time.A baby should get foremilk and hindmilk both.Foremilk satisfies baby's thirst while hindmilk satisfies baby's hunger.Hindmilk provides calories and helps in weight gain.A baby who's taking feeds adequately will urinate at least 5-6 times a day.You should be taking a balanced diet rich in all nutrients for ensuring breast milk production.Include jeera, saunf, red masoor dal, fruits and green leafy vegetables in your diet. They are known to enhance breast milk production.Try doing this and monitor baby's weight every month.Your baby's ideal weight at this age should be around 7.5-8 kg. If cough is not responding to medications it is possible that there's mucus inside.Steam inhalation by creating mist in room with help of humidifier may help.If bacterial infection is suspected antibiotics may provide relief.Bronchodilators may be needed if wheezing is present.Only a clinical examination will determine whether baby needs antibiotics and bronchodilators.Have a frank discussion with your Paediatrician about it.Please write back to us with more queries.I sincerely hope this information helped you.Keep us posted.Take care and good day!
