  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
Every baby is different, so exactly how much milk your baby will need in her/his first few days is hard to say. However, you'll notice that she starts to take small but increasing amounts of milk as the days go by. You can expect the first feeds to take up to 40 minutes or longer. Once your milk comes in, your baby will usually feed for between five minutes and 30 minutes at each breast.

In the first few days of postnatal life, the baby requires very little milk. However, as the baby grows, the capacity to consume milk increases from 1 oz. on the first postnatal day to up to 10-12 oz. daily by week 2 and 3. By the end of week 4, the baby can ingest and digest up to 25 oz. to 30 oz. of milk daily.

    • Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
If that is the case, you can try different formula from that you already using. Some times constipation can be caused by iron drops so if you are giving then stop then see if this help. If nothing helps them consult your doctor.

Is cow milk better or nan pro 1
    • Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
If breast milk is not sufficient for your child and you need to supplement then choose fortified formula milk rather then Cow's or animal milk. Baby's intestine are not fully mature to digest animal milk during 1st year. Giving animal milk early may cause allergic tendencies to develop in your child which may result in frequent loose stools, frequent cough/wheezing, anemia and poor weight gain.
Also cow's milk have more salt load which is harmful for young kidneys of your baby. Early exposure to cow’s milk proteins increases the risk of developing allergy to milk proteins. Because of the possible association between early exposure to cow’s milk proteins and risk for type 1 diabetes mellitus.
