Having sore throat after quit smoking.

I used to be a chain smoker. Its been 15 days that I quit smoking. Had a few cigarettes in past few days. I feel like something is stuck in my throat. I feel exhausted most of the time and not feeling hungry, feeling weak. Now I don’t want to smoke again. Please help!

    I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

    Quitting smoking has it's own side effects, but they don't last long, and can be managed.

    When you quit smoking, the body begins to produce more mucus. This is to help clean out the tar and other toxins from the lungs and throat lining. Often it will also cause you to feel like there is a lump in your throat, and can even cause flu like symptoms, complete with nasal drip. These symptoms generally don't last more than a few days, and can be treated with the same remedies you'd use for a cold or flu - throat lozenges, warm teas,etc.

    Also your body will be healing itself of all the damage smoking has caused. This might lead to weakness for a few days.
    You should drink lots of fluids.
