    Bleeding gums can be a sign that you have or are at risk for gum disease. Ongoing gum bleeding may be due to serious medical conditions such as leukemia and bleeding and platelet disorders.
    The main cause of bleeding gum is the buildup of plaque at the gum line. This will lead to a condition called gingivitis, or inflamed gums.Plaque that is not removed will harden into tartar. This will lead to increased bleeding and a more advanced form of gum and jawbone disease known as periodontitis or pyorrhea.
    Other causes of bleeding gums are
    -Any bleeding disorder
    -Brushing too hard
    -Hormonal changes during pregnancy or pregnancy gingivitis
    -Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
    -Ill-fitting dentures or other dental appliances
    -Improper flossing
    -Infection, which can be either tooth- or gum-related
    -Scurvy or vitamin c deficiency
    -Use of blood thinners or anticoagulants
    -Vitamin K deficiency
    what to do-
    1. Brush your teeth at least twice each day. Make sure you follow proper brushing technique. If you're not sure what to do, ask your dentist .
    2. Floss daily.
    3. Rinse with mouthwash for 15 days.
    4. Eat a well-balanced diet. A balanced diet, including plenty of vitamin C and calcium.
    5. Drink plenty of water after eating, can help wash food off your teeth and make it less likely that bacteria will form gum-damaging plaque.
    6. Say no to tobacco. If you smoke cigarettes or use other tobacco products, try to quit.
    7. Be cautious about extremely hot or cold foods and drinks. When you have gum problems, you may find you're more comfortable having lukewarm or cool foods and beverages.
    8. Relax. Being stressed out raises levels of the stress hormone cortisol, increasing the likelihood of inflammation throughout your body, including in your gums.
