Dizziness after alcohol withdrawal.

Good afternoon doctor,
I am 27 years old male. During my master degree(2011) I started the habit of drinking regularly and most of the time heavily. This habit continued for 5 years till I resigned my 1st job and returned to native. After 2-3 months I did not drink and gradually I started to feel dizziness and sickish all the time. Those days at times when I walk I loose balance when I turn. When I take the first cigarette of the day I feel like I am gonna collapse and after few minutes I will be fine.

I just want to add a past history of mine here ( 3 years ago). Back in those days I had a couple of occasions of sudden jerks and twice I fell down while playing badminton( that time I did not tell anyone because I thought its due to lack of sleep) sir I consulted a neurosurgeon 8 months back and he advised me to take ENCORATE CHRONO 200 twice a day( i did not tell him about my past drinking habit to him because my parents were sitting nearby).

He told me to take EEG and MRI. THIS RECORD SHOWED GENERALIZED SPIKE AND WAVE DISCHARGE WITH BI FRONTAL PREDOMINANCE WITH PHOTO PAROXYSMAL RESPONSE. IN VIEW OF NORMAL BACKGROUND ACTIVITY THIS RECORD IS SUGGESTIVE OF PRIMARY GENERALIZED EPILEPSY.

So from the past 7-8 months, I am not drinking much( 3-4 times in 8 months). Sir can you tell me about my condition and advice me a healthy lifestyle and sleeping hours. I don’t get sleep early. very hard to get sleep and very dizzy in the morning. I sleep between 1 -3 am.Sir, I got a good job offer from Dubai and I have to join before march 12th 2017. Do I get the same medicine there? Can you help me by sharing your thoughts.

Thank you

  1. Hi
    Welcome to MediMetry
Wat ur described in past is pretty much suggestive of alcohol with drama seizures if they happened on days when u skipped taking alcohol... U did not share ur CT scan report though. In order to be sure in suggesting u... I need more info.... U may find difficult to get visa approval on health grounds... Or may be defected if seizure happen there.... So please be very sure... Better safe then sorry...
