  1. Hello Dear,

Thank you for writing to us at MediMetry.
The weight gain during pregnancy is normally 11kgs in 9 months. Whether you should gain less or more depends on your BMI. Cervical Cerclage is done for incompetent cervix and for recurrent mid trimester losses. Ideally you should take rest throughout pregnancy and avoid any trauma and sex if you have this history.
By rest, It does not mean strict bed rest but avoid exertion unless you have history of bleeding or pain abdomen in this pregnancy. Staying active will help you have a healthy pregnancy.

After 1 week I have got extreme constipation. I have taken duphalac and I am eating fibre rich food. But it is not helping and becoming painful. I am worried about the stitch. What should I do?
    • Hello Dear,

You can take duphalac along with diet rich in roughage and lots of liquids. Regular routine of walking also helps. Take advice of your doctor if it is painful and not getting relieved as reason for this can be sedentary lifestyle along with hormones of pregnancy and drugs given after encerclage. Pain can happen if there is a fissure in anal region. Constipation should be relieved as you should not strain much.
