    Hiccups usually are a sign of excess gas in stomach. So they are seen mostly after feeding. Burping after each feeds helps in relieving the excess gas which babies usually ingest while feeding. So hiccups which are mostly seen after feeds, do not disturb the child, are benign and don't require any special evaluation or treatment.
